Josh applies his 20 years of financial industry experience and capabilities as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional to making his clients better understand the path they are on and guiding them toward achieving their goals.
He provides goals-based planning for both families and corporate retirement plan participants. “Every person has financial goals and intentions. It’s my job to guide them along the way of defining and realizing those intentions,” said Josh.
Understanding that each person is unique, with different goals and different histories, he uses his empathy and ability to see the big picture to truly understand the person before looking at their assets and recommending investments.
He also believes in detailed problem-solving. He looks at different methods to resolve issues, instead of focusing on a single solution, because he understands that lives are more complicated than that.
Josh joined our team in 2019. Previously, he was head of goals-based advice and support at JPMorgan Chase, where he led a national team supporting more than 4,000 financial advisors. Earlier in his career, he was a financial advisor at several other firms. He began his financial career in 2001. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry/biology and a Master of Science in Financial Planning from Texas Tech.
Josh grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and lived in Houston for a time. He now lives in Dallas with his wife, Dianna, and their children, Grace, Brady, Job and Hallie. In his free time, Josh enjoys golfing, fishing and coaching his kids’ sports teams.
“Our third child, Job, is adopted from Uganda and, ever since the adoption process, my wife and I have a desire to serve the people of Uganda whenever we can,” said Josh. “We serve on medical/dental missions to Uganda with our church as well as helped begin and support a ‘sponsor a child’ program through Engage Hope ministries, enabling children to attend Christian school in Uganda. We also are involved in a malnutrition eradication effort.”
